From the Founder — A Life Rooted in Agriculture
My name is Rui, and my journey began in the most natural way possible: by following my grandparents through their four hectares of vegetable and animal production in the heart of Lisbon in the 1980s.
From the age of four, I learned:
- how soil smells after rain
- how plants show their needs
- how ecosystems organise themselves
- how my grandmother refused chemical pesticides
- how she used fitotherapy, ashes, plant extracts and ancient field remedies that seemed unbelievable — yet worked
As I grew, I worked in both organic and conventional systems.
And I saw the same struggle everywhere:
exhaustion, fragility, and the feeling that something always comes to destroy the harvest.
That realisation shaped my mission.
